Oval glass window at bottom of black painted metal case. The clock will be featured in a major multi volume book on German Precision Pendulum Clocks, including a chapter on Strasser & Rohde. The author's research found a 1900 article in a German clockmakers journal describing (and illustrating) the Strasser & Rohde clock in the newly inaugurated Philadelphia City Hall.
