Got this on an internet listing.
    It’s an August Ericsson watch.
Ladies pocket watch converted to wristwatch by adding strap lugs and removing pendant.
    Nothing unheard of...

    It’s not silver, looks steel.
Actually it looks like a gunmetal case, and the cuvette sort of prooves that:

It’s weird. I wonder if it’s all of the coating left after polishing, or if someone tried to make a coating and made this much:???:

I decided to coat the case black.
I used some steel oxidating paste, getting a not bad result...

The coating is NOT uniform with what was already there, though.

That one is darker than my paste can achieve. I could polish that coating off and redo it uniformly, but... what the heck, it’s just the cuvette...

I need a better crown. Definitely.
Will get back with more details soon.

For now - a contest. Whoever guesses what’s inside gets two thumbs up from me ;)

Ericsson had his business in Petersburg selling high quality clocks and watches, and the suppliers would include IWC and Ulysse Nardin.
