• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

I have a 540 in the shop. The owner decided to wind in manually as the bellows was getting weak. When he did this he way over wound it causing the pin to fall from the winding chain. From the Jerry Jager stuff I've read, he tells you to replace it in the link it came from. Is there a measurement like for the other calibers to check the tension? Thanks in advance.

Literature says 45mm spring length when installed. If the pin came out, quite possible the chain broke, as I cannot see how the bent pin escapes otherwise. I'd think you need to look in the motor for a link or a piece of the chain, then check the length of the chain if it was so stressed.
