Maybe a silly question. But why buy something if you don't know what it is.
Was it.
A . Looks interesting might have a use.
B. My hamster just died and the box would fits that purpose. RIP . Nice brass plate on the lid .

Cjer, there are tools worth collecting, or useful maybe for putting in the window of a small shop to bring in work, but this is probably not one of them. If you want to repair clocks, I would relist it, learn to repair and bush manually, and then buy an inexpensive machine (like the K&D, if you really need one) but it's up to you. I wouldn't use it.

Graham, considering removing clock movements from their cases and dipping them whole in a bath of green goo without even a rinse and slapping them back in really caught on (almost every clock I have found at brocante fairs) I have to agree. Too difficult? No instructions? Ran out of threaded bushings?
