Do all of the complications work? I ask because I just handled a pocket watch with a similar dial and the extra items had to be manually set each day. it was made to look impressive but wasn't.

It does work properly which would make this an impressive watch. Best regards, Brian

At a first glance, I wonder if that is a Rebberg movement. It has more than a passing resemblance to Aegler's plate style. Never heard of Aegler doing complicated watches though.

How do you set the calendar functions? Even on watches where those functions actually work, there are usually buttons for setting purposes.

The only setting comes from pulling out the crown. If you advance the time, at the 24 hour mark, the calendar features adjust.

As roughbarked suggested in the duplicate thread under “Complicated Watches”, I think this could be a customized version of an A. Michel base. I believe something near this cal 422.

The click I’ve seldom seen outside of Movado, who favored it for a time.

I really hesitated taking the dial off.....but here it is. The back of the dial has 699 inscribed on it and what looks like a very small sideways ‘3’ if that helps. I don’t see any makers mark at all.
The only indication of anything is an initials inscription on the back that’s mostly warn off that reads ‘ * U B ‘ The first initial to too far worn off to read.

Hi Odinfire,
I re uploaded the movement Pic. It didn’t upload properly.

There's no sign of any setting pushers for the calendar wheels, so I guess you'd have to remove the bezel and move the relevant hands manually. Just don't do it anywhere near the time when they're engaged with the actuating fingers!

Regards,

Graham

I am impressed to see that the months indicator is advanced automatically. Many later, more advanced designs did not feature automatic advancement of the month (required you to advance it yourself with a pusher).

Thanks guys. Great info. Would really like to find out the maker. Maybe the case maker ( monogram FG or GF on inside case back) would give a clue?

I’m also thinking maybe it is a prototype? Given that the movement is fully functional yet there is no pushers to adjust when a new month rolls around.
