Does anyone recognize this maker's mark? It is on the plate of a wanna-be, spring driven, Vienna regulator. A man's head wearing a headband with wings. Any help would be appreciated.

This appears to be one of the many Kienzle logos, it was registered in 1898. (DEP Is an abbreviation of Deponiert, meaning registered).

Edit: I noticed the link doesn't go to the actual page. If you copy and paste Merkur / Mann/Kopf mit Helm und Flügeln into the search bar it should take you to the logo.

In the German clockmaker's magazine DUZ of 1890 there is an article with this logo

    загруженное (14).png

This logo with letters DEP was used by Kienzle in 1892-1894.
The movement of your clock s/n 197698 was made in 1893

The logo in the DUZ article seems different, i.a., facing the wrong way.

Mercurius is the Latin for Hermes. IIRC, "Merkur" is the German equivalent.
