Anybody out there use Windows Timing Machine?

What seems to be the problem?

The main things I had to get control of with WTM were recording level and calibration.

I ended up purchasing an inexpensive watch pickup and a small amplifier to boost the signal into my sound card (Creative Labs Audigy 2).

I still need to use sound editing software (Soundforge by Sony/Sonic Foundry) a lot of the time to increase the volume in the recorded soundfile.

The other hassle is calibrating the soundcard. There's a pretty good description of how to do this in the readme file that comes with the software.

This is definitely not 'plug & play', but once you get it set up it's not bad at all.

I'm getting it narrowed down now. I need to get a better watch sensor. I had bought a clip-on acoustic sensor thinking that it would work. So far it hasn't. I'll have to order something different to use. Greg Saville has been real helpful in trying to get this all ironed out for me.

Sensors and volume were the big issue for me. I still need to use Soundforge to increase the 'volume' of the sound file before bringing it into WTM.
