I recently purchased an Obama Oil Injector with extra tips and an Obama hole gauge #6. Although I have been searching the internet for the user manuals and any other information associated with these classic tools, I have been largely unsuccessful. Is there anyone who has access to these manuals or who can point me in the right direction in getting an original or a copy? I would very much appreciate it.

Also, I have heard that the Obama hole gauge actually consists of a kit as in more than one tool...maybe 7? Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks kindly for any help on this matter

    :) Thanks Frank,
My mother was all German but the German I inherited from her doesn't speak German. I will see if I can get this translated and if I am successful I will post it back to this thread.

    G'Day!

I do not know if they were available as a set of 7, however one could buy them individually, any one from size o to size 6. Instructions are in German, attached below.

Also, one could order other sizes from the maker.

    Cheers

If you're doing watch-work, I'd guess that you'd get by with just the "0" gauge needle. Similar tools are out there, but I have only seen them with one needle-gauge, often broken. If the one you got was used for watches, it probably has the "0" size needle, and you should be good to go. I have a similar, but unbranded, tool, but it is useless (unless the jewel hole is .19-.20mm) because it's broken off most of the way up the needle. Good luck on your info hunt. They are handy, and generally command a fairly hefty price. Cheers.

Much cheaper: a smoothing broach, diameter measured with a micrometer in repeating distances and a DIY scale.

    Thanks Robert.
I was trying to translate the instructions from German but were not as clear as yours!

You're welcome, but I didn't translate it. I bought one, and it came with the instructions in English with the original stand and box.

So here is the first rough draft of a German to English translation of the instructions for an Obama Hole Gauge.
