Just picked up this one off of Facebook Marketplace. It needs work and didn't come with a dome.

Nice early JUF clock. Looks like the barrel has had a bit of trauma. Is the pendulum numbered to match the movement?

Does anyone have a photo of the upper suspension end. I received this in pieces and I think something is missing. Thanks

So this is maybe a pre-1910 clock?

Could you post a clearer picture of what you currently have for the suspension bracket?

You are needing one of these.

One of our members sells a reproduction part on ebay (seller brooklet_95). Search for 400 day clock to find his listings (from Australia). I've purchased a number of repro parts from him. Good quality stuff.

Thanks...what does the middle block do? Someone has replaced the screw comingin from the side with a piece of wire. I'll have to find a screw that fits.

Hi Barry,

Do you mean the part shown here at the arrow:
Bracket_15_center.jpg
If so, it provides the pivot point for the suspension gimbal, keeps the gimbal in alignment, and gives the means for setting the beat.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll have more questions latter on. But first I going to put it through the ultrasonic.

Should this clock have finials?
Hi Barry,

Yes it should have a pediment and finials like this one from my clock # 67592.

Originals are difficult to find, and even if you can find one it might not fit the mounting holes in the front plate.

I've started making them for my own clocks. The pediment is made mostly with hand tools (jeweler's saw and files).

This one is for a Patent Angemeldet JUF clock.

And the finials are turned.

This one is for an early Hauck clock.

All you need is the time, the tools, and some brass. The seller I mentioned in my earlier post also sells some cast replacement finials. I'm not sure what his sample was from but they will work for most people. I like mine as close to the original style as I can get.

The attaching screws are a whole other subject.
