• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Since Robert posted the nice note about the British Sapper, here is the write-up on a watch I bought. Past owner was a WWII US Army Combat Engineer.

But you can read the full story here: The Watch of Lt. Col. WA Marshall

Jack --

Congratulations on your superb research and story about W. Adin Marshall! I did do a quick search on Newspapers.com, which has become a significant source of information for me -- but there is basically nothing about Lt. Col Marshall. I did find two sources Googling that your probably already know about:
I hope you enjoyed reviewing my TimeCapsule website ( Military Watches | Time Capsule Watches ) -- what was once a hobby is now an obsession! Please check out the story of Col. Frank Whitehead's Hamilton watch, which I just returned to his family.

I only have one WW2 Gruen Watch -- a presentation watch given to W. A. "Waddy" Young for playing with the Army All-Star football team against the NFL in 1942. Waddy was Oklahoma's 1st All-American, and played for the NFL's Brooklyn Dodgers in 1939-40 before joining the Air Corps. He was killed in 1945 while leading a squadron of B-29s over Japan. Click on the <Athletes> menu at the top of TimeCapsule to read his story
(Young-1a Biography | Wristwatches ).

Please keep in touch!
