I have a New Ormond car clock, which is about 100 yrs old. I have fully serviced it & it will run for about 3 days, stopping a few times (keeping good time). It is an 8 day clock with a basic balance wheel set-up.

It ran for 3+ days recently & I wound it & now it runs if it feels like it.....

Everything is in good shape & I'm wondering now if it needs a new mainspring
{I had cleaned & lubed the old one.....}

Either it goes on the shelf - or I go in again with a new spring.

At least it's a good excuse to go back in and check everything again, while you have it open :)
