Many thanks to Tom and Jim for responding to our request. I only hope we will do the subject justice.

I appreciate and want to thank whoever is taking the lead on adding some of the older chronometer threads to this new section. I hope this continues as this will no doubt contribute to the success of this endeavor. As a relatively smaller group of collectors I don't expect high numbers in threads or posts compared to the clock or pocket watch collectors. This isn't a contest of numbers. However chronometers (of all types) are an important element of horology historically and it's very assuring that we as an organization recognize and support their inclusion in our hobby of study and collecting.
