I don't have a spare set of hands for your Junghans, but have made up some that match reasonably well using Part #13197 from Timesavers. Will appreciate if you could provide answers to the following: 1) What is the serial number of your clock? Can provide actual year it was made from that. 2) Does the back plate have the word "Germany" on it? If there likely at the upper left.

I may be able to help with hands for the Kundo clock but will need to see the dial to be sure they are a match for what was used in the 1930s. Also post a photo of the front and back of the clock, with the suspension guard removed if there is one. Also please confirm the serial number, can give you accurate dating from that.
Ah, I wondered where this post had gone. Thanks for suggestion John but perhaps I’m jumping the gun. Better I get clock going first. :)

Hi,

I need the small piece (+ screw if possible) at the top of the movement that hold the torsion spring assembly, sorry I don't know the name of this part. It is for a Schatz 49 square dial. I also need for this clock the locking tube that fits over the protecting tube to lock the pendulum. The base of my clock is a non-adjustable type. If somebody has one that can be adjusted, let me know please.

The first item on your list is generally called the 'saddle'.
The latter item doesn't actually have anything to do with the pendulum. The pendulum is removed and the spring securing device slides down the spring guard to contact the pin in the lower block of the suspension assembly, keeping the lower block from moving around and allowing the spring to get bent or broken.

Thank you for the precisions. The saddle is a difficult part to find. I bought one on eBay but it was much to big to fit my clock. Neither Timesavers, Merritt's or Perrin ( in Canada ) carry the saddle.

Adjustable clock feet.

feet 1.jpg feet 2.jpg
The foot on the left side in both photos is from a Heco Lantern case. Kern & Sohne movement. 3/4 inch wide, 1/2 deep. The foot on the right side in both photos is from a Bucherer lantern case. Koma movement. 7/8 inch wide, 7/16 deep. Missing one for the Heco and two for the Bucherer. Don't know how difficult it is to find these, so if anyone else has tried to find these and failed, please let me know that I am looking at a lost cause.

Check my past posts in this thread on 3-D printing parts. I did one foot a while back. Just an idea.

Yes, I had seen that post and put it on the list of possible solutions. I was basically trying to find out with this post how difficult it was to locate these feet. If no one has spares, then I could cross that option off the list and look at others. The easiest solution seemed to be to make a set of feet from either brass knobs or brass feet that are available. Wouldn't be original, but at least the clock would stand up straight.

Hello John, sorry I lost this thread from 31 January. I think it got moved. You asked about the number on my Junghans compass pendulum Clock, it’s 24517 and no Germany on back plate. And no spring guard.

The kundo dial is as shown for the hands needed.j

You mention buying Ansonia hands for Junghans Clock and modifying them. As they are too big do you cut a section out of the hand and solder joint from the back? Do you have a photo of your ansonia hands?

I tried to view the attachment in post #94 above and I got an error. Why? I still don't like the new (now older) format of the forums...

Regarding the attachment, either the link is bad or there was some error uploading. Perhaps Peter can post the photo again, he does mention he has had poor internet connections which could be the problem.

Hello,
I have a Gustav Becker plate 1032 and am in need of the bracket that goes with it. I believe it was 4,5, or 7 in the book. I hate to admit that I had it, cleaned it and on reassembly it has disappeared. I have spent days looking; no luck.
Thanks

If you used an ultrasonic cleaner, look in the bottom of it ;)

What is the serial number of the movement? That will allow me to identify which bracket is correct.

Thanks, Mr. Hubby. Eric sent me a picture that I feel confident was it, but would like your response for the actual number in the guide. 2141180
The correct upper bracket for this clock is No. 7. This bracket was used exclusively by GB for all production starting about SN 2125600 (late 1909) until the No. 8 beat adjustment bracket was patented and introduced in March 1913. The No. 8 became the standard after WWI, with No. 6 showing up with the lantern pinion GB's in 1925 (Plate 1147).

Hello members,

I have two watches 400 days Schatz and another Kundo. all of them manufactured in the 50's. All three have identical plastic domes. My query is: all the 400-day watches Schatz and Kundo brought glass domes and the plastic ones were replacements or some brought original factory plastic domes?

Thank you!
Adrian from Argentina

Welcome to the message board, Adrian! I have clocks with both glass and plastic domes. Another member posted that at some point, Schatz began to supply their clocks with plastic domes. They tend to be more durable with shipping and if taken care of, look just fine. Here's some info:

Just inherited this beauty....Schatz clock

As for Kundo, I don't believe they used plastic domes but could be wrong.

Wouldn’t it be better if the newest posts appeared on page one and the older posts on pages two and three?

I thought that was something you could choose in your preferences, but I can't find it. I'll alert @Tom McIntyre to view this thread and see if it's possible to do on an individual basis.

The order of threads is fine but it’s the individual postings that’s the problem. On 400 day .......... clock parts wanted the first page arecthe oldest postings, page three at the bottom has the newest. I want the newest on page one. On my iPad I see no way to change that order. I’m the first to admit I’m no expert on computers as you can probably tell :)

During this time period, the Kienzles also came with disc pendulums. My Kienzles disc pendulums run around 11-11.5 oz in weight.

One my Kienzles looks like yours and has a serial number of 119639. The pendulum weighs 14.3 oz or 405.4 gr.

KurtinSA thanks for the weights, below is what came with the clock quite clearly home made but quite good, only problem is it only weighs 270grams.as you can see the outer ring is ally only inner ring is brass and cast brass at that .I might get a round piece of brass and machine another base for it until a time come when I can find an original

Remember not to put too much stock in the weight of pendulums (If they are not original to the clock in question).
I could make a clock run faster with a six ounce pendulum that it does with a one ounce pendulum while using the same suspension spring in both cases. It all depends on the shape of the pendulum (Or, how it's hung).
Picture a hypothetical clock with a one foot length of 1/4 inch aluminum round stock as a pendulum, suspended at its center. Now replace it with a lead bar of the same dimensions it'll run much slower. Right?

Now... Suspend the lead bar at its end. It'll have a massively reduced moment of inertia and very small coefficient of friction

I must agree (more or less) with Kurt. Base on the serial number and style, your clock would have had a disk pendulum like this one:
Kienzle disc.jpg

Ball pendulums were optional on Kienzle clocks with Huber movements.

I have yet to find even a picture of the packaging for those clocks. I imagine it would be something like that used for the Barock/DuBurry.

That was my presumption as well, Eric. I have several Tiffany blue boxes for the Barock and DuBurry, but have never seen the packaging for the Mademoiselle.

Was given this clock missing the minute hand...and a bit dirty! It's a Kieninger & Obergell with the Geo. Borgfeldt logo. SN (43621) seems to indicate it was built in late 1931. Measuring from the center arbor towards the outer ring, it would appear the hand should be about 57mm long...not sure of the style, but probably likely straight with a slight bulge in the middle as it tapers to the outer end. Probably like the other picture of a later clock. The canon pinion has a square end to it and measures about 2.3mm across the flats.

I have some hands but they're all too short! Thanks...Kurt
