I was looking at a movement as described above. It is caseless. I was wondering who might have made it. Some have mentioned Silas Hoadley as a patent dodge. Any other input:???:??

    Thank you,

Hi Jim, several makers produced timepiece with alarm movements, including Mr. Hoadley, but also Atkins, Hiram Welton, and a couple of others. Several were sold last summer at the Cottone auction of Chris Brown's collection, and the pictures of same are still posted on Cottone's web site.

If you post a couple of clear pictures, we can no doubt identify the maker. Thanks.

Jim, this is a Silas Hoadley timepiece with alarm movement. They were used in both miniature bevel cases and miniature half (or quarter) column and splat cases.
