Hi guys, I had a pretty good day yesterday with these 3 new acquisitions! Seth Thomas clocks around my area always demand a premium so I couldn’t pass this up for the price even though it definitely needs some TLC. The movement is dated 1979.

The ship wheel clock I don’t know anything about, but I found a similar one on the Internet from the 1950s.

Finally the globe clock I also don’t know about but it was very unique and I had to have it! Some info I find suggests it’s 1930 and other info suggests it’s 1939. It didn’t come with a key but a #2 key seems to fit.

I apologize, I can’t for the life of me figure out why my pictures are attaching sideways!

Steven, thank you! Maybe next time I won't upload pictures from my phone!

Yes, the back of the Seth Thomas does have a Talley Industries stamp.

Richiec, I was wondering why the chime seems so weird on the ship clock, there's several chimes at the half hour and on the hour!

The globe clock is the first one I'm going to take apart for cleaning, so I'll see if there are any markings or stamps on the movement.

I took the movement out of the globe clock tonight and to my surprise it’s been recently cleaned and oiled. There were no markings on it however.

As I recall the globe clock movement was made by Gilbert. Need to check that though

the ships bell clock also has a Hermle movement,7jewel pin pallet platform, still in production today but with a 11jewel platform. There should be a production number under the bell to nail down the year of manufacture.Sounds like it needs adjustment of the minute hand bushing after a TLC to get the strike right on the hour and half. These mvmts have a rack and snail strike,so once set up it should stay in sync.

As mentioned, the ship wheel clock chimes on the hour and half hour, not 10 minutes to the hour. Each half hour the chimes count up to 8 before starting over.
