Some time ago I sold off almost all my watch collection with a few exceptions and stopped reading and researching like I did for a while. I'm a little(or a lot) obsessive compulsive and this hobby was consuming me. So I stepped back and will probably continue to remain on the sidelines for a while. But this is one I have and this 992b dates, if I remember correctly to about 1942. My mom' birth year(and my mother-in-law). That is why I carry it on Mother's day. I've decided to put it in a correct case. I know it could have been in a #2, #10 and perhaps a #11.
I'm thinking of the #11. I just like it.
Do I have my facts straight? Will this be a "correct" combination?
serial number: C51568
Current case: #16 with incorrect bow

I have a very similar 1942 Hamilton 992 B with a serial number only 122 numbers higher than yours.

Neither the dials nor the cases are identical. I like my dial but never really cared for the case.

I can't help you with any of your questions, sorry. I just wanted to post a similar looking watch in case that's of any help to you.

very nice. When I sold most of my watches one of them was a 992B that was between our with a US Gov stamp on it. I'll see if I can dig up a photo.

For your model 11 replacement... will need to 'fit' in the time frame.... having 'shoulders' pendant area and a numerical case serial number without a K prefix... the case pictured above meets the 'shoulder' pendant but no serial seen for case back.

Thanks. If I go with a #2 or even the #10 what should I be looking for regarding period correct "fit"? I see #11's quite often but most are K prefix or no shoulders.
