Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me find a ad or picture of the styles of cases and dials for a 1931-1932 Waltham vanguard Wind Indicator? I purchased one that the dial isnt correct and the case isnt correct to the time period. Im only into the watch for around 175 and I think the money I would put into it would make it well worth it. Thanks Tim

Here's a 1932 catalog sheet that shows the cases (it was also sold as a movement only) and the double-sunk enamel dial.

I wouldn't put any more money into that watch until you can find the wind indicator parts and dial and a correct U.S. govenment-marked case.

I agree with Kent on being careful about putting too much money into it.

A year or so ago, I bought a 1930s non-WI Vanguard that had a broken shipper lever. The part on this particular watch just happened to be shared with the WI Vanguards. It took me two months to find one, and I had to pay $50 for it.

I think there's a good chance that you would end up spending at least that much on each individual WI part(and I see a bunch missing). All said and done, I think that you could easily spend the value of the watch just on parts.

Proceed cautiously.

Thanks kent I will try and find a case if not I just wanted a Idea of the cases of the time period. Trying to figure out how to ask this without going against the rules. not speaking value but what percentage is lost by not having the correct case but a case from that time frame Thanks
