I am puzzling over this small clock based on a 16s Elgin. It runs fine but it is not complete. There is what appears to be an electrical connection and two sprung levers that interact with the mainspring barrel. The main wheel over the barrel has ratchet teeth on top that seem factory made. If anyone can tell me what this clock was originally designed to do I would be grateful.-Cort CF47F35C-033E-4E7B-8945-607CFA6A0856.jpeg F56C4775-0CF1-4B0F-827D-E04FD5AFA2AC.jpeg 84F9E775-A73B-47BE-8715-912C14A7075F.jpeg 00719827-B46B-4672-B8A6-5F839F210893.jpeg 012E7ABD-46C7-4499-A6CA-2830726A5458.jpeg

I don't see any electrical connections but could the parts reacting with the main spring be something like a 'stop-works'?

The electrical connections, levers and an extra ratchet ; could indicate that it was possibly electronically wound up.
Good theory! There is a brass screw in the case that has an insulated washer but that’s no confirmation of electricity involvement. Brass is at least as conductive as steel so , well,
I dunno. There isn’t a light port to the dial so that’s not it. -Cort

Need a pic of the back of the case.
Looks like it had a back light and the wind /set was converted to the wind on the winding wheel for some reason?

My last pic is the back of the case. I’m afraid that’s all there is. From the front it is a normal clock that winds and sets in the usual way. What went on behind it is the mystery.-Cort
