    What's the deal with 14k Dueber cases. If they are stamped 14k, are they 14k?

    Welcome to the NAWCC Pocket Watch Message Board!

    There are a lot of Dueber cases (and other manufacturer's cases) for which the 14K mark is misleading, being used to denote the quality of the gold-fill.

    However, there are 14K solid gold Dueber cases which can be identified by [colour=red]These Trade Marks[/colour]. The black areas shown in the trade marks are those areas that have been stamped down into the metal, while the white areas appear to be raised.
