    Suspension spring

I have looked at Timesavers but no luck. The thickness of an American clock spring is very close to what I need. I have always had trouble taking enough temper out of a spring to drill a hole. I have a hole puncher but the smallest puncher is to big for what I need in making a suspension...

    Electric Ridgeway grandfatther clock

I oiled the pivots of the anchor. I took the movement out of the clock case to oil it. I do not know anything about an electric motor, so I would know how to check the motor but except to see if it runs.

    Electric Ridgeway grandfatther clock

That was by first thought but I set the beat correctly then it starts going out of beat and finely stops.

    Electric Ridgeway grandfatther clock

I have a customer that has a Ridgeway grandfather clock movement 2571-080 114cm. It keeps great time, chimes and strikes the hour correctly but the pendulum will not continue to swing. It has an automatic beat verge. It is like a mechanical floor clock with one electric motor. I took the...

A 26 tambour Ansonia mantle clock

Randy, I think you are correct. I can adjust the warning wheel without taking apart the movement. This has made me rethink what I have do so far. Thanks Randy.

A 26 tambour Ansonia mantle clock

I rebuild an Ansonia A 26 tampour mantle movement. It has a rack and gathering pallet. On the half hour, the warning wheel is activated, the gathering pallet is turned. When the warning is released, only one hammer hits and the other is left half way up when it stops. I turn the hand to the...

    Escape wheel

I call the index is the distance between the teeth. I took clay and tried to check the distance. I had a replacement EW, 46 tooth and replaced it. I set the lock and drop but still have trouble keeping it running. It is a ST time only. I have trouble with half bead beat escapements for...

    Escape wheel

Lot of teeth were bent. I straighten them but I can not get the index set on some teeth. I have tried to check the index but they seem to be the same. Thought about replacing the EW but I think it makes a difference if it is a half deadbeat vs a deadbeat escapement.

    Escape wheel

I have a wall clock that needs a new escape wheel. It is a half dead beat escapement. The EW turns counter clockwise. Are the escape wheel at Timesavers for dead beat or half dead beat? Does it matter? Thanks.

Never seen an EW like this one in a French Grandfather

The pendulum weights 13 lbs. The pendulum does not have much of a swing but runs good.
