G'Day everyone. Well it has been a while and this clock has been on and off the back burner quite a lot, while i did other projects but the clock now strikes every half hour and keeps good time. All I had to do was turn 2 new barrels replace both springs and a bush or 2.
The instruction and...
Thanks for your reply, here is a picture of the back of the clock.
Thanks for the feedback on the bushing tool.
As i had never actually seen one other than a picture so i had no idea of dimensions, i will shorten the overhead arm.
The clock that i re-bushed with this tool is still working but it is temperamental. It keeps good time but to get the beat right one side of the clock needs to be raised about 8mm on top of rotating the movement inside the case as much as possible and still be able to get the key on the arbors...
Thanks for all the replies
This particular spring is for the Time. Both barrels are the same size and i want to buy both springs at the same time neither of them are in very good shape, in fact the springs probably match the condition of the clock when i got it. I had to bush the entire clock...
Thanks for the replies Bruce & TH.

The spring calculator on this site says the spring should be 0.669 x .0125 x 66.1" which is 17mm...
The arm is rock solid, it is made from 50mm box section with a 3mm wall. However i did get a twist in the base so i had to screw it to a timber base.
I have read in a few posts that the bushes in the store bought product have worn which then means they have play in the shaft.
With this one they...
I hope to have the toggle clamps https://www.amazon.com.au/TING-Toggle-Clamp-Antislip-Horizontal/dp/B00S9D0Z46/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1JYVQN4VDARQI&dchild=1&keywords=toggle+clamp&qid=1592676853&sprefix=toggle%2Caps%2C312&sr=8-2 midweek to finish it. I will find out if it works then i guess.
I thought i would try my hand at making a bushing tool based on a picture of one mentioned here. I am still waiting for a couple of clamps to be delivered so i can finish it off but i thought i would post it here for a little feedback on whether i am on the right track or not.
