    Installed 4x4 chiming quartz only to find it can't handle 18" 150 gram pendulum. Anyone know of a westminster movement that will handle this pendulum ? Thanks :confused:

    Yes you can remove the plate holding the main springs BUT first you must let down the springs power with some kind of let down tool. with the tool in place wind grip it and start to wind enough to release the click then let the tool spin slowly until the spring is unwound

    Yeah I always seem to get the odd ones ( Sometimes feel a little cursed ) the post has a turned section just longer than the plate thickness it's then placed through the plate held and pressed on the back side like a rivet. For some reason this one did not have adequate friction

    OK found my problem should have pulled the shut off up but I pushed it down into the sleeve thinking it was attached to the movement. I managed to remove the clip with a piece of wire with a small hook then remove shut off rod and sleeve by lifting it out and the movement came right out Thanks...
