The warning lever is operated by a pin on the minute wheel, not the cannon pinion; these usually have about 36 teeth or so, therefore

A quick update - apologies for the wrong tooth count - it's 35, not 37 (thanks, David LaB) and it looks as if there will be on its way to me.
Back plate says 5 1/2. Yes, I would consider a parts movement if it didn't cost a fortune! That would give me plenty of spares for this...
