I must have put the hands on last night with to much pressure. I tested wheel after wheel and all was smooth until the hands went on last night.
I got home an hour ago and put her back together piece by piece. TO my amazement All is smooth evan after the hand install which I was gentler with...
Thank you. Great information. The wztch wss keeping railroad time before. Yes I believe the center wheel is a tad bent due to the odds but maybe I slightly disfigured the pinion but highly unlikely. I'll look for a variation of movement tonight when I get home.
FROM what I understand a lathe...
Hey Jim. Thanks for your response. I just visited the thread because I realized it was the center wheen and I was going to edit my past post :)
It's either the center wheel or cannon pinion. It's very minor as the watch only loses 1 or 2 sec an hour.
Is there any way to repair this without...

Those are very nice, thank you for sharing.

It is sad. I know of a seller and that's exactly what he does. Takes a nice watch and parts it all out in pieces.
Message him and ask about the other pieces
Great stories to read! thanks for sharing all.

Mr Coatsworth your watches history sure is neat.
this takes the cake so far. that watch had a long service life of 40 years! I'm not up on that make but it must be a quality watch. I didn't think they would have gotten so many years out of a watch
These are cool examples. Some of you guys are lucky on receiving heirlooms. the ones above certainly have a great history.
I'd very much like to track down the history of a watch like you two did with watches that are documented with Railroad history.
I really enjoy the historical aspect of watches. even the monogrammed initials, old locket photos of someones past loved ones. I think it's very neat. I enjoy war history as well and I think I may get a Hamilton model 23 next with service history. if I had the cash currently I'd buy a ball on...
