    GB: four clocks more

Thanks Kurt. When eventually the grey bar downloaded from 1 to 100% it was one second only, but innumerable attempts. I think the problem is my end. Maybe my provider.

    GB: four clocks more

] If you’re still compiling GB clock numbers here are four more for your data, John. First two photos No. 164. Belongs to a friend. Found in Bangkok. Wrong pendulum. Still slight flutter with fork raised as high as it will go. Had no emblem below dial. I bought this emblem from Horolovar...

    Make your own finials

Very nice work. I made the crown and had finials turned for this Philip Hauke miniature. Mun Chor-Weng kindly photographed his identical model straight on from which I could make a hairline outline drawing. Printed drawing and stuck the paper on brass then filed and dremelled to shape. I found...

Torsion 400-Day, ATMOS, & Torsion Clock Parts Wanted

I apologise profusely that it’s taken me over a year to respond. I just saw the threads. The second photo is a cardboard cut out of original Junghans hands and the bits of offcuts from Ansonia hands.

Clock Motion parts wanted for F Hepting of Furtwangen movement

I have recently discovered that an old wood plate movement, ca. 1860?, I’ve had for years was made by F Hepting. At one time in its life it was badly eaten by termites. The back board is original but with much plastic wood filling and moulding. Going train runs fine with its soothing one second...

Fidel Hepting of Furtwangen. Looking for parts.

I’ll start again! I have recently discovered that an old wood plate movement, ca. 1860?, I’ve had for years was made by F Hepting. Going train runs fine with its one second pendulum and has a complete working strike mechanism. Unfortunately it’s missing tension washer, the gear on the extended...

Thank you Kurtis, TJ and Eric for your valuable input, especially the photos, Kurtis. Might be good to have a permanent photo step by step reference on Google and NAWCC. Could save a lot of clocks.

    Junghans Swinger

Cannot download photos. After putting blue tac on top of movement cover it’s only gained 30 mins in 20 hours so definitely a weight distribution problem. I shall weigh the blue tac. The dial face is damaged which maybe lightens the top so it’s not 252 grams. Tnx for feedback. Surprise...

    Junghans Swinger

Jewels fine thanks shutterbug, new from timesavers. I’ve stuck some blue tank on top of movement and it’s not gaining as much time. The hand turning knob and winder are not original. Perhaps there’s a weight difference so making it hard to set correct swing.

    Junghans Swinger

On a Junghans Swinger do the tops of the two steel pins have to be flush with the tops of the brass balance shaft? I have one movement where the pins protrude about 2mm above the balance shaft. It swings for days but gains time. The bottom bar is flush with the two end rods and the spring above...

Question on Pendulum Cups and Caps

On the occasions I have a nut with a poor thread that it cannot be tightened I’ve used a small piece of flattenedsolder melted onto the nut thread and then screwed iback on to the threaded bar. The brass thread being harder than lead solder retaps the solder in the nut and can be tightened...
