Ansonia Crystal Regulator - Hidden Brocot Movement....

I recently acquired this Ansonia clock. It is quite dirty and will require a complete servicing. As I removed the movement, I did not expect to see the brocot movement. It was behind the dial, which I was a selling point for me....like the hand painted dial. Two questions: 1. Is this...

    KIENINGER & OBERGFELL Electromagnetic Clock

I'm pleased to hear that information. I have really no knowledge of these clocks other than what I can find online. Here are a couple of photos of what I believe to be an original battery. Of course it's totally dead. Is there anyway to date these clocks? I have heard that the more recent...

    KIENINGER & OBERGFELL Electromagnetic Clock

There is available a battery adapter that holds multiple AA batteries...the advantage being longer life before changing batteries. Isn't the clock adjusted by the bell shaped weight as noted in this photo? Mine seems to be accurate for the 2 days I have had it running. ~Bob

    KIENINGER & OBERGFELL Electromagnetic Clock

I have a fascination for these electromagnetic clocks. Fairly simple when they work...and almost impossible if they don't. This one works fine. The original battery was replaced. Guessing it is from the 1960s, but I don't really know.... Thanks for any comments or observations you may...

    Chauncey Boardman Steeple-Fusee

Excellent...thanks for that....what seems to also amaze me is that the cord for the fusee movement appears to be original. I suspect that this clock is a very low user clock....it shows very little wear...the veneer is what shows most of its age. Thanks once again, Andy ~B

    Chauncey Boardman Steeple-Fusee

I was thinking the same thing...and what an odd thing to do when you are seeking the most value.....essentially defacing the item. ~B

    Chauncey Boardman Steeple-Fusee

I used the printer as a way to date the clock. I believe the printer was only in business from 1847-1851 ca. I had not noticed that this printer was not typically a label maker for Boardman....interesting, thanks for that info. Great resource this..NAWCC forum! Thanks Andy ~B

    Chauncey Boardman Steeple-Fusee

Thanks RM, I looked past the veneer because I was attracted to the movement and the clock in general. The dial lines up nicely with the winding arbors and the mounting screw holes, etc..... it does appear to be zinc from the look of the back....or at least some sort of soft metal. It has no...

    Chauncey Boardman Steeple-Fusee

Recently acquired this clock and it is my one and only Fusee movement. It appears to be all original....the dial is suspect, it is metal with a slightly raised chapter ring...as per original ...but it just looks too unused. I haven't done a thing to it yet...been running fine...the strike...

    French..? Plato Flip Clock

Yes, I should have mentioned that...I do have the original platform. And to be clear both escape wheel pivots were broken and the lower escape wheel jewel and lower balance wheel jewel...so it's a big job for a professional.

    French..? Plato Flip Clock

Unfortunately, the pivot on the escapement wheel of the original platform was broken. Thus the reason for the new platform escapement. The clock is also missing the bottom cover and a detent wheel that would prevent setting the clock in the wrong direction. That is the reason for the long...

Seth Thomas Ships Clock - Merrimac

Always wanted one of these....with the bell....outside would be nice but this one is very enjoyable. Purchased as non-running. The movement was and still is very dirty. Looking at the prospect of disassembling and re-assembling ...is clearly beyond my current skill level...or at least it...

Seeking ID for Tall Case from Dial Photo

Andy, Appreciate the reply....the clock is not at my location...I should be able to get a full photo of the clock..and one of the dial with the door open.....but removing the hood will happen a bit later..... Thanks, ~Bob

Seeking ID for Tall Case from Dial Photo

Is there anyway to identify this tall case clock from this photo? Photo from a friend, the clock is not working but is apparently complete....save the second hand. Been in storage for years, family heirloom of sorts. The second photo is a view from inside the case toward the bottom of the...
