Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

A little update :) It works now. Ad soon as I disengaged the pallets, train was running freely. No prob with that. Then I closely inspected escapement, verge and anchor. Funny, I hadn't paid attention before, but anchor (anchor shaft?) Is fixed to the platine via adjustable bridge, which can be...

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Thank you again for all your advices, guys. Based on that I have prepared a to-do list for Saturday. Copying it here just for the sake of keeping it all organized: 1. Disengage the pallets (verge, anchor) from the escape wheel and see if the time train runs freely 2. While it's doing so, look...

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Thank you, RC and Mark. A lot of helpful comments and tips. I will try them next weekend. Last one was completely occupied by a visit from friends and a late wine tasting :) Really bushings, they really look OK. But I will inspect closely, and maybe take some photos. Central shaft, need to...

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Good day! Small update and in need for your advice. Yesterday, I took off pendulum from the clock (preparing for weekend's cleaning and oiling) and as soon as pendulum was off, clock started ticking (obviously faster than they should) and it is still going as of today. It looks that after...

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Thank you, Mark. This is a very good idea with disengaging pallets. Will try it first while disassembling. Will report back. Hopefully with working clock :))) Just one clarification - if center shafts pivot is bent, should I straiten it the same way as I bent it?

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Could not reply earlier. Somehow I could not login to the website. Thanks, RC. I hope it is not a case. I decided to disassemble again everything on weekend, and will to check all shafts and pinions etc. If no visible damage or beats I will reassemble again and see if it helped. I just wait...

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Thanks, Mark! This is exactly what i did. I was afraid to bent the shaft or leave dents on it. All cleaned yesterday, reassembled, oiled. And it worked well yesterday, but now I see it stopped. Must have missed oiling some parts I guess :screwball:

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Heat didn't help. :( Though I managed to pull out the mainspring barrels, so I will leave that stubborn pivot there. Will clean it of course.

Help with stuck central shaft/wheel removal

Hello guys, I am disassembling my first wall clock, watched all tutorials and instructions. All went well, except for the last strp, when I need to remove central shaft/wheel and this will also allow me to pull out the mainsprings. It is old German clock with pendulum. All videos show that...

Striking resets itself after few days

Thank you! Yes, probably it is the easiest solution. Let's see if repair shop can figure this out.

Striking resets itself after few days

Thank you. I need to study a bit the movement to grasp the meaning of what you said :) but to clarify - so such resistance, as you have said, may build up within few days, and then manifest in occasional skip of strike, right?

Striking resets itself after few days

I have old wall clock from Werner. It was serviced just a few weeks ago. And the same problem appears, which I think service could not fix. When clock is back from service, it works as it should and strikes correct hours. Then after a few days, at some point, it resets the count and strikes...

I have Werner clock. Stamp on the back is a half moon and a star. I think it Innsbrook made around 1885-90. Some photos are attached. Can't provide exact measurements as it is already installed, but it was around 9,5x10cm.
