Please Show the Most Recent Addition to Your Collection

Here's my most recent acquisition, or should I say two most recent...this is the FIRST model 9 16S 19J Bunn movement made and the LAST model 9 19J movement made...the first and last of the model 9 19J Bunn

Whats your single favorite pocket watch in your collection?

That's like asking what our favorite Springsteen song is but I'll try...how about this model 9 Sangamo Special 23J crosshatch with diamond endstone? And this model 9 23J 16S fishscale Bunn Special ain't too shabby either...

Show off your Ball Watches(any size)

Very nice Paul...I love a great looking movement like this one, especially on the older watches

    Sangamo Special question.

Yes, that is indeed a diamond endstone...it seems all (300) the first year(1913) 19J SS have the diamonds but maybe they were the only 19J SS that had them...I have two of them #2575084 and 2575175

    Here's my Hamilton 21J 999B with a 2B prefix...one of only 700 made:

    Sangamo Special question.

Thank you Terry and thank Mike for me...he and I had corresponded a few times many years ago as the model 9 Sangamo Special has been my favorite as well and his "The Sangamo Special-Beginning to End" has been my bible

    Sangamo Special question.

That SS site by Mike Chamelin and others is back online now. I guess Mike isn't here anymore and I have a question for him or any other SS experts here. According to my partial research, it seems that only the first year (1913) model 9 19J SS has diamond endstones. Can anyone confirm or refute...

If you could only have one RR watch...

I don't carry, so I'd have to pick one from my collection...a tough call. I'd probably waver between my 950B 2B prefix serial number (100 made) and my model 9 23J crosshatch true bridge Sangamo Special with diamond endstone......decisions, decisions....

    #532 Dial on a 992B?

I understand and it was sold before I posted...I should have stated it was sold instead of "being sold"

    Hamilton 992b New Variation?

It's the same watch with a different dial as the one up top, at the beginning of the thread...it belonged to someone else when the thread began...1B27070

    #532 Dial on a 992B?

I saw a 992B being sold on Jones & Horan today with a 532 dial and baton hands, the combo we see on a 950E. Their description was that they had seen a few of the first year production 992Bs with that combo...what say you?

    Hamilton 992b New Variation?

I just did Jim...as much as I know how to

    Hamilton 992b New Variation?

For the last year I have owned this mystery watch and since then I have seen a couple more of these 1B prefix 992B out there and knowing how Hamilton used left over plates fairly randomly, as they did in my 950B 2 prefix, I think this was a factory production, although I can't prove it. I have...

What Are the Rarest Watches in Your American Collections?

Scarce and rare American RR watches in the best possible condition is what I look for. Unfortunately, I can't spend multiples of thousands of $ for each one that I would like (says the wife). But, there are rare variants out there of high grade RR pocket watches that when patient and lucky, one...

What do you think of this hybrid I found for sale?

As it turned out, when I explained to the seller about the two different plates, he sold it to me at a greatly reduced price. It has a very nice case that I can use on a better Bunn/Bunn Special model 9 movement and I have parts of a 17J Bunn I can use to make it whole, meaning replacing the...

What do you think of this hybrid I found for sale?

Terry...not sure what you mean by "component numeral marking check"

What do you think of this hybrid I found for sale?

I didn't think there was such a watch as a Bunn Special 17Jewel...you can tell by the difference in the demaskeening (sic) of the plates that the plate with the jewel count and serial # is from a 17J Bunn and the other plate from a Bunn Special...could it possibly be a factory mistake or...

What do you think of this hybrid I found for sale?

It fooled me at first glance

    Show Your Special American Collections

I posted on another thread today from a new member who asked what makes a watch collectible. I posted a brief evolution of my collecting to the present day. I mentioned early rare model 9 Bunn Specials and model 9 Sangamo Specials as being what I collect now plus other rarities. Below are some...
