I am refinishing a German clock case [picture below], and there are spots on the top and back where the original stain is completely gone. I would like to match as closely as possible the original stain, but have not been able to find anything close from the usual commercially available stains...
I have a wooden clock case on the base of which a decorative groove design was originally carved into the wood, primarily straight lines and some curved lines. Much of it has worn away and the grooves need to be "revived." Can anyone recommend a tool that can be used for this type of work...
I have a Gilbert clock with outside metal hardware [or whatever the correct terminology is - picture below] that is badly tarnished and needs to be cleaned. I am not sure what the metal is, possibly brass, but I soaked it in clock cleaning solution, but no luck. I am hoping there is some soaking...
I saw those, but they the original formula is described as liquid rather than creme formula. Does that matter? The container that I bought some time ago had cleaner the consistency of hand cream.
