    To rule the plate out, I did the obvious. I measured the heights of the blocks directly and came up with a 12 mil difference between the center support and the ends. Fairly close to the feeler gauge method I originally used. Thurmond

    Oh, I should have mentioned - Before anyone gets too excited about having a three jaw chuck in the mill, I'm waiting for the proper collets to arrive so I put the chuck in temporarily just to get a sense of how everything is going to fit/work together.
