    The inscription says "Presented by the Sunday school Baptist church in Pentyrch to Ann James on her wedding on 22nd October 1874" Pentyrch is a small village north of Cardiff. The church building still exists and there is a local historical society so I may have some information from them.

    Hi all I attach some photos of my latest acquisition. The plaque dates the clock to October 1874 (in Welsh). No maker's name, just the serial number and number 6 on the movement. Pendulum has a different serial number. Can someone guestimate where it was made and the maker? Thanks

    Hi Can anyone provide some information on my latest acquisition shown in photos. I assume it is German as it has "Made in Baden" stamped on the movement.     Thankyou both I assumed that after 1926 German clocks had to scribe Foreign on their movements and case. So the date at the base of the clock could be 1924. The case certainly looks English.
