Yes, I did mean grams. Thanks for catching it. My comments aren't criticism and shouldn't be taken as such. 1 oz. US coins would most likely be gold and silver 1/10 eagles. Probably not a common choice for scale calibration. My mistake on the nickel not being grams. Whatever the unit of...
A nickel weighs 2 oz. It would be nice to have some 1 oz. Coins lying around. Fluctuating measurements would likely be a low battery, as I don't believe a 2 oz. Fluctuation is a common occurrence.
I am pretty sure, roundabout 33mm, and as they are pre-1890 and I don't have any later examples, I will defer to you. I would caution using weight as a significant or sole determining factor in assessment, quality or otherwise.
Hmmm... Maybe my scale is not accurate? I've got 2 early 6s movements only. Elgin grade 71, 12.7g and a Waltham grade C, 11.4g. movement and case, Elgin grade 101, in a solid 14k case 28g.

Hi, I am wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I am in needed of a 6s crystal for a hunting case and I don't know how best to go about measuring for fitment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thought I was going to need a bezel but got lucky and found it crammed in...
I appreciate the recommendation however, as I live in WA state I might look into some different options first. Thank you, if you're ok with it I may ask for more details in the near future.
Roger, thanks for the info. I did have a question about the crescent case co trademark. The earlier trademarks have the word mark underlined and are missing the c.w.c.co at the top and the later trade marks do have the c.w.c.co at the top, but are missing the line under mark. Seems like a...
