    Weight of a 6s movement?

Yes, I did mean grams. Thanks for catching it. My comments aren't criticism and shouldn't be taken as such. 1 oz. US coins would most likely be gold and silver 1/10 eagles. Probably not a common choice for scale calibration. My mistake on the nickel not being grams. Whatever the unit of...

    Weight of a 6s movement?

A nickel weighs 2 oz. It would be nice to have some 1 oz. Coins lying around. Fluctuating measurements would likely be a low battery, as I don't believe a 2 oz. Fluctuation is a common occurrence.

    Weight of a 6s movement?

I am pretty sure, roundabout 33mm, and as they are pre-1890 and I don't have any later examples, I will defer to you. I would caution using weight as a significant or sole determining factor in assessment, quality or otherwise.

    Weight of a 6s movement?

Hmmm... Maybe my scale is not accurate? I've got 2 early 6s movements only. Elgin grade 71, 12.7g and a Waltham grade C, 11.4g. movement and case, Elgin grade 101, in a solid 14k case 28g.

Anyone know where I might be able to find a moon style minute hand for a 6s pocket watch?

    Beryllium bench stone

I was thinking of a whetstone with 3000+ grit. I assume that berylliums softness and health concerns would make a finer grit stone more sensible. Should I look for something finer?

What grit? I assume extra fine?

    Cw mfg co

Thanks! I'm really quite happy with it. I didn't notice there were stones in the flowers when I bought it. There are holes all the way through the case that the stones are set in, I guess for light to pass through? I have not tested them but, I assume they would be diamond or sapphire...

    Cw mfg co

Thanks! I also seem to have an issue with a catch on the lid not quite closing. The case is maybe bent a tiny bit, also the watch doesn't wind? It Will spin counterclockwise but not clockwise. It does not spin clockwise at all and the crown seems stiff when opening the case. Would this be a...

I appreciate the recommendation however, as I live in WA state I might look into some different options first. Thank you, if you're ok with it I may ask for more details in the near future.

    New addition Waltham 1873-6

Roger, thanks for the info. I did have a question about the crescent case co trademark. The earlier trademarks have the word mark underlined and are missing the c.w.c.co at the top and the later trade marks do have the c.w.c.co at the top, but are missing the line under mark. Seems like a...

Can this be fixed? Or rather, can someone with minimal knowledge repair this?
