Between 21 years old and my current old age the term 'value' took on many meanings to me and the monetary relationship to the word is not high on my list. I have many 'valuable' memories and items that is not worth much in terms of money, but invaluable to me.
Actually, it's up to you since it is 'your' property. If you want to convert them all to wristwatches I encourage you to do so because it only helps me in the long-run. My originals simply get more valuable.
Like the guys that buy and restore old cars; there's the group that only believes...
Jeff, I think it's called 'Bling.' I saw a music video recently where the guy had on a watch just as you described. I had never heard of it being a trend, but I sure hope not.
Did you loosen the screw sitting at the about 12:15 position. Just to the right of the 12 o'clock position is a small screw. Loosen it about two or three turns.
Ok, I found the 'ignore' feature under the User-CP
Thanks...Problem Solved....
If I want to 'ignore' (not see) comments from a particular poster(s) is it possible to add them to an 'ignore' list?
Thanks.
Finally came free.
When I removed the case the movement remained in the case back so only the dial was visible. The movement fit very snuggly in the case back and I saw no way to remove it, but I found a tiny tweezer detent on the side of the movement opposite the crown and when I pried a...
I have a vintage ladies Waltham that I can't figure out how to release the movement from the case. I am posting a picture, but the parts are so small that my iPhone camera is not doing a good job, but anyway...
There appears to be a toggle as seen below in black and pointed to by the blue...
I was shopping for a demagnetizer this morning and noticed all that I found stated you could demagnetize 'parts' and 'tools.' Can I demagnetize an entire watch without disassembly? Can I hold it with my tweezers, pass it into and out of a demagnetizer, and accomplish anything without...
I have had a couple old watches lately that seem to run fine then suddenly they start running fast. Why? I think it's my fault.
I have an Apple MacBook computer and stereo speakers on my desk. Apple computers have fairly strong magnets that hold the case closed, and another magnet that holds...
More than likely a 'licensed' Cartier watch that was made by some third-rate manufacture. Like Tiffany, I see—not so much anymore—the Cartier name on things that make me wonder who really runs the company. AAUGH!
I read DARRAHG's reply above and then yours, Doug, and gleaned that 'One-Dip' is a solution (Noun) rather a action (verb). Am I correct? When I first read the first reply I wondered why someone would only dip something one time to clean.
Re: What are YOU wearing today?
Today, I'm wearing a Bulova Senator Ca. 1944 with original bracelet. I am always amazed at how small watches were in those days.
Cheers for Kevin! Sorry I doubted you.
Thanks, Jeff. Either way, I still like the look and will attempt to bring this old guy/girl back to life. I think with a nice shinny black java lizard band it would be just right.
Kevin, maybe you are right, but I think this is the original case for this movement. If this was an 'after-market' case then the maker did an excellent job. Take a close look at the movement picture, and for me, it's hard to believe this movement was in another watch.
