Hamilton Model 22 Serial Number Query

Thanks gentlemen! Here's a photo of the movement for validation of the SN. The watch came with a wooden box and a timing test document from the Southwest Instrument Co in San Pedro. Marine Chronometer dept is stamped in red on the doc. There are no navel related marks on the case only on...

Hamilton Model 22 Serial Number Query

Would anyone know the manufacture date of a Hamilton Model 22 with serial number 2F29675? It seems rather late in production compared to other SNs I've seen. Thank you in advance!

Help with Illinois 16 Size Bunn Special dials

Thanks John. Would you know which Illinois watch the black spot dial would have appeared on? RR grade? Or maybe the year it would have been available? I've not been able to find it referenced in any of the books I have.

Deck Watch: Opening an Elgin Deck Chronometer - any tips?

Thanks Tom, it sounds like the threads are a good distance from the weight. Could be part of the problem. The tub is 1 1/4" and the weight is only 1/4" thick. If the threads were closer to the weight I'd think it would be an easier task. I'm guessing the box and watch were dropped at some...

Deck Watch: Opening an Elgin Deck Chronometer - any tips?

I just acquired an Elgin Ships Chronometer. The wooden box is not in good shape but the watch seems to be in good condition, at lest what I can see. I'd like to remove the movement but the back seems to be stuck. From what I've read the back should just screw off but it's not budging. Anyone...
