• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

    Some Jerome clocks for viewing

Mike, A couple of pictures are attached with the gong base removed. There's a vertical dark stripe on that part of the label. If I can find a few other examples of this type of clock, I'll look for that stripe at the top of the label. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Some Jerome clocks for viewing

Here's an interesting clock that was obtained on Jan. 3 at a local online auction. It's a 31-1/4" high Chauncey Jerome patent case (US Design Patent 883) with a type 2.162 eight day movement made by Ansonia Brass Co., as identified by Snowden Taylor on page 13 of his article "Eight-Day Brass...

Post your Dutch wall clocks here

Joe, Thanks for your comments about the Stoelklok. My knowledge of Dutch clocks is very limited, so I have a lot of reading to do. I didn't realize that it may be a Leewarder type, and don't know about the heavy metal brackets that you mentioned, but will investigate and find out. The Sellink...

Post your Dutch wall clocks here

This is an old Stoelklok that was found on local Craigslist last week. Here in West Michigan there are a lot of people with Dutch ancestry. The seller told me that his parents emigrated from the Netherlands many years ago, bringing this clock with them to the USA. It's pretty dirty and dusty...

    Post Your Waterbury Clocks Here!

Here's an 8 day Waterbury carriage clock that has been modified to work with a furnace thermostat. The user would set the time of the alarm to approximately one hour before expected wake-up time, then manually turn the thermostat down at night to a lower temperature, and the clock would...

    Post Your Waterbury Clocks Here!

Here's one that was found nearby a little while ago. It's a Waterbury "Nelson", and is shown in the Waterbury book by Tran Duy Ly on page 195. It was available in oak or mahogony and this example is mahogany. It has an 8 day time only movement and was also available with an 8 day time &...

    Ansonia pictures only

Here's an Ansonia "Bagdad" wall clock that was found at an estate sale approx. one year ago. It is approx. 50" high and has the double-mainspring time only 8 day movement. A similar clock can be seen in the Tran Duy Ly book on page 182. They also supplied this clock with 8 day double-weight...

post your favorite New Haven clock

Here's one that was found at an estate sale last week. Although unmarked, it appears to be the New Haven "Cambria" as shown on page 152 of the Tran Duy Ly book. It was missing the bottom finial, but I had one on hand that fit okay, was the right color & finish, and looks good enough for me...

    Items found in clocks

This very old screwdriver was found in the bottom of an American woodworks clock a year or two ago. There weren't any screws in the clock, but there was a screwdriver (at least that's what I think it is). It's approx. 3-3/8" long.

    Some Jerome clocks for viewing

Harold & RM, Thanks for your comments about the Jerome clock. I returned to the estate where the clock was purchased and found what may be the original dial. It seems to match up well with the original dial holes in the vertical supports. Thanks again.

    Some Jerome clocks for viewing

Here's a Jeromes, Gilbert, Grant & Co clock that was acquired recently. The dial, glasses, and doorknob are not original to the clock. The dial (not pictured) is a painted steel modern repro. But it runs okay.

T-D, Thanks for finding this movement picture. It seems to be just about the same. Is it marked Winterhalder or W&H on the backplate? Was it contained in a Colonial clock? Pat L.

Colonial of Zeeland, MI Model 1054 Clock - Movement Identification Request

Hello, This is a Colonial model 1054 clock with 5 tubular bells. The only markings that I see on the movement are "Made In Germany" at the bottom of the back plate, and "853" at the top of the front plate. The dial is also marked "Germany" at the bottom edge. Does anyone here know the maker...

German bim-bam wall clock i.d. help request

Just acquired this German bim-bam clock. There isn't a trademark or name on the movement, but the chime block has these markings: "Glocken" and "gelaur" and "DRGM". Can anyone determine the maker of this clock by the markings on the chime block? Thanks for any information you can give. Pat L.
