• Upcoming updates
Over the next couple of weeks we will be performing software updates on the forum. These will be completed in small steps as we upgrade individual software addons. You might occasionally see a maintenance message that will last a few minutes at most.

If we anticipate an update will take more than a few minutes, we'll put up a notice with estimated time.

    Thank you!

Thanks Eric, I found the one you were talking about. I was hoping the wood base was original. Form the looks of it the tops are harder to find. I didn't think I would ever see another and I was at the auction so I got a good look at it first. I try to focus on unusual pendulums so the pendulum...

    Atmos 540 Question

Thanks Ed. 45mm is what I needed to know. Thankfully the chain did not break.

    Atmos 540 Question

I have a 540 in the shop. The owner decided to wind in manually as the bellows was getting weak. When he did this he way over wound it causing the pin to fall from the winding chain. From the Jerry Jager stuff I've read, he tells you to replace it in the link it came from. Is there a measurement...

    Suspension unit jigs

The Horolovar ones show up on the big auction site from time to time. I have one for the Kundo miniature. They are great. I also have an adjustable one. Not sure who made it.

    Second bellows repair successful but...

I would like to charge my own bellows as well. I don't see that it would be a huge issue other than the material. How did you source the Ethel chloride?

    Interesting Torsion? Clock

Just got this in to repair. I'm not sure to call it a true torsion clock. The dancers bounce to advance the escapement. It has an oval dome and top I left with the owner. It also has a plug to cover the winding arbor hole. Mainspring looks to be massive. I'm sure it needs power to move the...

    Atmos Equilibrium

Bellows is good. Why does it take so much to reach equilibrium? That would seem to be the winding issue?

    Atmos Equilibrium

Fork and roller are poised. I don't see any damage. It will run for several weeks. Once it stops it won't run again unless I let it sit for a week or two or manually wind it a little (like just touch it). Then it will run again for a few weeks. The equilibrium is definitely not right. It takes...

    Atmos Equilibrium

Yes its been cleaned properly. I've cleaned and serviced 6 other Atmos clocks with no issues. Mainspring is cleaned and properly lubricated with synthetic oil.

    Atmos Equilibrium

I've got a 519 that stops after several weeks. If I let it stop for a few days it will run for another week or two. I've been through it twice and the problem persists. I've done 6 other Atmos clocks without issues. It takes about 13 pushes winding to reach equilibrium. From the Gerry Jaeger...

Post Your Ph. Hauck 400 Day Clocks Here

Re: Hauck Louvre I've got the clock restored and running. I came up with a very well made reproduction pendulum at the Eastern States Regional. I've been using a tumbler to polish the parts and it's very effective 24 hours and the parts are bright and shiny again.

Cheap Atmos Minute Hand Removal Tool

I just tackled my first Atmos complete overhaul. I've done a few mainspring cleaning and bellows in the past with good results. I watched the old Jerry Jaeger Atmos overhaul video and saw what he used for a hand removal tool. It was just a cheap generic one with a small pin in the end. I also...

Post Your Ph. Hauck 400 Day Clocks Here

Re: Hauck Louvre No luck finding a small semester uhr pendulum. Does anyone have the dimensions of the disc? I am going to make one on the lathe, It won't be right but it will look close enough for now. Thanks, Karl
