Winterhalder Hoffmeier Gallery Clock - is it 'straight'?

Bruce, Thank you for you reply/input! My photos sometimes leave a lot to be desired and photo shot angles can throw one off. My concern is that the case and movement is a 'marriage', i.e., is it straight.

Winterhalder Hoffmeier Gallery Clock - is it 'straight'?

Well it's too late if the answer is no :>) I happen to like the clock just the same. My question relates to the overall size of this gallery clock and whether this WH movement could have been married to this case possibly long ago. The large 14" dial could also have been re-painted some time...

Quick Question RE: American 30 Hour Movements

Thank you for your answer, Tinker Dwight. I should have been more explicit. Which American clockmakers or did all of the well known makers produce a 30 hour gingerbread type/kitchen clock with an alarm mechanism?

Quick Question RE: American 30 Hour Movements

If such a thing exists, I've never seen it... a Gingerbread/Kitchen mantle clock that has a 30 hour movement with the 'alarm'. Did any of the American clock makers produce this combination?

Any information about this Quail Cuckoo ???

Hi Russ L., I would take a look at the 'sold section' on Ebay for Cuckoo Quail clocks that are similar in style and age to your clock. It is really kind of a personal decision as to whether invest more $$ to properly repair your clock. I know I've invested money (beyond the value of the clock)...

Re: Resetting Hands to Coordinate with Strike on Chelsea Banjo Clock - A little help Thanks for posting Harold, Yes, the first time I moved the minute hand around to hear the strike, I had to move it to 12:02 before the hammer came down. How can I tell if the minute hand has a center...

Resetting Hands to Coordinate with Strike on Chelsea Banjo Clock - A little help pls

So I haven't had the clock but for a few days and the strike is off by about 2 minutes after the hour and the 1/2 hour. On any other clock T/S, I just remove the hands and reset, but that clock is not ticking away when I'm doing it. But this Ships Bell Banjo clock is in constant running...

    Cuckoo Clock Identification Help

Hi Utgard, You did a beautiful job cleaning the cuckoo clock! One thing you could try with your cuckoo clock "weights" issue is to try this... since your weights are fairly 'light weight', use a piece of wire or very strong string and tie them securely together. You'll have a total weight of...

    Cuckoo Clock Identification Help

I too am not an expert on antique BF Cuckoo clocks, but I do have a number of them. The old weights that each of the clocks have all range from apprx 1100-1200 grams. I can't imagine you would get much of a 'cuckoo sound' with the weights that you have, much less keep it ticking. The deep...
