After 1900 Brillié clock, 1 minute pulses to slaves!

Thank you Peter, I have resigned myself to the fact that this was made as a 1 minute impulse master clock. Calculations showed me that reversing the wheels would in fact give me 15 second impulses, rather than 1/2 minute impulses that I had initially anticipated.

After 1900 Brillié clock, 1 minute pulses to slaves!

Hi, I am working on my first Brillié clock. It is a master clock with a 1/2 second pendulum and centre-seconds. I expected it to give out an impulse to slaves every 1/2 minute. But mine impulses every minute. I notice that a 24 tooth wheel on the arbour of the seconds hand drives a 48 tooth...

    Atmos 519 Bubble Level Repair

Hi everyone! I thought that there may be some interest in my latest Atmos project. I am working on a 519 (Number 29067). One of the first things that I noticed was that it was impossible to get the bubble in the level central. I spent a long time fiddling with the adjusters, and the...

    Atmos 2?

Hi Jeff .... thank you so much for answering my question. As you can imagine, as someone new to Atmos my head is buzzing with all sorts of queries! A little while back I posted on the forum my ideas about recharging bellows myself, but was surprised to get no reply. Unfortunately up to now...

    Atmos 2?

What a fabulous forum! Thank you so much for all your information Jeff & John! A question for Jeff, if I may? I have not yet had occasion to work on a soldered bellows, and had found the link that I gave, when researching the subject. The main premise of the "lathe method" seems to be the...

    Atmos 2?

Hi again! Another thing that I noticed on this clock are some stress fractures to the domed brass casing of the motor. Now I know, thanks to John, that mine must be one of the first examples of the casing and steel backplate that fit together with a "keyway" action. I am wondering if mine...

    Atmos 2?

Hi John, thank you very much for your detailed reply. Regarding the "bullet" shaped protrusion, I presume therefore that when the motor unit was replaced in 1948 the original back trim plate was reused. The "bullet" piece is a seperate item and just pushes through a hole in the trim, and is...

    Atmos 2?

Hi! ..... I have just taken delivery as an ebay purchase of what I believe to be an Atmos 2 . (It has the smooth pendulum rotor with very fine vertical black lines.) Having been reading postings here for a while, I think there is interest (particularly from John Hubby) on serial numbers and...

    Home recharging of Atmos Bellows?

Hi there, I am just getting into Atmos clocks, and reading about and learning as much as I can. I am a proficient amateur clock/watch repairer (40 years experience), and have always avoided them because of their reputation. I now feel like a fresh challenge, and will take delivery of my first...
