Oval escapement pivot..How serious is that?

Here's the only picture I can give you. Wish I could be more helpful. The mechanism is disassembled and the escape wheel removed. I've managed to straighten the arbor myself. The only issue that remains is the broken tooth and I have no idea how to fix that. I have every intention of replacing...

Oval escapement pivot..How serious is that?

I don't know that pictures would help. The shaft is slightly bent, the wheel is not installed properly and one of the gear teeth is missing! No idea how or why. I could remove the gear easily enough so what I really need is the arbor and bushing to set it right again. The rest of the clock...

Oval escapement pivot..How serious is that?

Yes, it is the pivot HOLE. I've already replaced the movement with a new Hermle unit so this old Urgos is free for me to play with. I'm a woodworker/furniture restoration guy so my plan is to build a new case for it. I'm going to shine it all up and actually feature the working movement. That's...

Wanted: Urgos escape wheel I have an old Urgos 7/106 that needs an escape wheel and especially the proper arbor! Finding even a mention of this particular model has been difficult. Anyone know where I can find such a thing?

Oval escapement pivot..How serious is that?

On a lark I said I would try to fix this old Urgos 7/106 for a friend. It hadn't been maintained since she bought it new in 1975. The rear pivot is clearly oval, causing the escape wheel to bounce around more than it should. I wish I had noticed this before I disassembled it, cleaned it, oiled...

clock running 10 mins. slow per hour!

Both movements are weight/chain driven. I checked for wear using a magnifying glass. All the holes were perfectly round. I finally found the proper pendulum and am now within a minute per hour. And, yeah, the pendulum is much shorter!

clock running 10 mins. slow per hour!

Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum. I restore furniture for a living and have worked on historic and museum quality pieces. Like clockmaking, it too can be very tedious and demanding as I use only original materials and techniques. So I have developed an appreciation for you folks...

Not helpful at all. But thanks for the lecture.

clock running 10 mins. slow per hour!

I have inherited two clock movements to play with. Neither had run for a long time. Both are Urgos (7/106 & 7/56). The internals seem to be identical except for slightly different verge/escapements. I am a complete amatuer at this but was curious so I took them apart, inspected all the holes for...
