I moved the hour pipe.. perhaps a bit too much... I'm gonna let her run and see ( should have marked the darn wheel) BTW .. I notice that the hour pipe - the cannon pinion and the smaller pinion are all scratched to mark a particular tooth - if they were all aligned would that be the way to...

Yes of course. The clock chimes about three minutes AFTER the hour - repeats 2 minutes later then again once on the half hour - but with the same three minute delay.

This is my second Comtoise clock but first time tearing one down and back together. Now that its cleaned up - It is keeping great time but the chime ( strikes on the hour and a second one minute to after as well as a single strick on the half hour ) is out of sync with the time. IE .. clock...

HI Tom, No I didn't run it with the pendulum on .. I will try as you suggest before i take it apart further to clean. There seem to be a wide range of preference on cleaning solutions .. also oiL? where and what kind.. I'm in Southern Italy and I've not found many resources for this here.. way...

Hi Tom, OK.. I actually got it on beat and running for about three hours . It seems that at some point there isn't enough power to run the chime and the clock so it stops. I'm taking it apart.. reading many posts on the message board.. a few that concern me greatly regard cleaning and...

I can't get it in beat.. Thank you for the article.. the escape wheel doesn't advance unless I pull slightly on the weight ( 155 oz). Is there something else I need to adjust ? It was running at one point before I took the hands off ( to adjust - they were loose) and in doing that I caused the...

Thanks Tom. I'm gonna run this through today.. I have noticed that if I increase the weight the cogs engage and the clock runs. My weights are likely not original they weigh -155oz each. Thom

Thanks both. I managed to remove the face - no damage to the tabs AND get the gears in sync.. ran for a bit then stopped- I noticed that the top cog isn't getting enough pressure to engage - see photo if it uploads. any suggestions? Thanks - excited to get this puppy running and ringing.
