    Winding/Setting ETA Winding Problem

Skutt50 The spring is actually part of the Setting Lever Jumper. It is part of the open loop. In your last post when you mentioned lever spring I thought there was no actual seperate spring acting on the Corrector Yoke. When I looked at it for about the 50th time I finally noticed that the...

    Winding/Setting ETA Winding Problem

My movement is the 2801-2. The first picture has the Setting Lever Jumper installed. In the second, it is removed. The Sliding Pinion does not move enough to engage the Winding Pinion when the stem is pushed in from the setting position. When I manually push it further it will engage the...

    Winding/Setting ETA Winding Problem

Skutt50 Thanks for putting me on the right path. The sliding pinion is not moving enough from the setting position to engage the winding pinion. According to the ETA 2801-2 assembly instructions everything appears to be assembled properly. DeweyC Thank you - If I manually push the sliding...

    Winding/Setting ETA Winding Problem

The setting operation works properly. Just so I'm clear: in the winding position, the stem spins but the winding pinion does not spin. The winding pinion is in contact with the crown wheel but the stem is turning as if it's circumference is too small to turn the winding pinion. This happens...

In the winding position, the stem spins but does not turn the winding pinion. I thought there might be worn out parts so I borrowed a spare movement from...

    Waltham Model 1891

Hi I have a Waltham model 1891 running about 10 minutes fast. It has been cleaned, oiled and demagnetized. It has a new mainspring #2220. It runs with an amplitude of 310deg. The balance adjustment has a 3min. affect. I would appreciate any suggestions as to why the movement is running so fast...

    Crown Wheel Problem?

Problem solved. On close inspection of the barrel I saw the cover was not closed properly when compared to another barrel. More inspection showed that it somehow got distorted. That's why I use a proper tool and not a pliers. Thanks for suggesting I check the barrel. Tony

    Crown Wheel Problem?

The mainspring is the correct one. I will have access to a 428 and will swap barrels to see if that is the problem. Thanks for the suggestions. Tony
