    IBM IBM Master clock help

Did you manage to solve this? I have a 25-7 running from a new power supply and relay box so I have some information on how to get it simply run, but couldn't help you with the correction part of the mechanism as mine doesn't have this fitted.

    IBM Slave clock project

Thanks Alan, I appreciate your comment. It does look quite authentic - from the front at least! Behind the scenes is clearly a little more modern in so much as the face is aluminium plate with a vinyl coating on the back which makes it easy clean and seems to help the battens grip it well, the...

    IBM Slave clock project

Re: IMB Slave clock project Thanks fdew. I learnt a great deal doing this project. If anyone else ever wants to make one if these I can supply a set of drawings and some guidance. Its a pity there aren't more IBM / ITR slave mechanisms around, there must have been thousands of the made.

    IBM Slave clock project

Re: IMB Slave clock project Hi All, After a delay of almost exactly a year, this project is back on the move  I have a set of drawings, a working mechanism and timber for the case and what I think is reasonable artwork for the face.

    IBM Slave clock project

Re: IMB Slave clock project Thanks, I hadn't noticed the date on the label initially. Seems it was quite an iconic style that lasted on the master clocks into 1960s. The case looks like its some type of oak and I seem to recall reading somewhere that White Oak was used to make some of the...

    IBM Slave clock project

Re: IMB Slave clock project Thanks Alan, Those pictures cover the detail I need. I appreciate your assistance and may well need some more info as the project progresses. Do you know the approximate date of the clock? My replica is intended to work with my 1952 25-7 which has a very similar...

    IBM Slave clock project

Hi All, I'm about to start a project to create a replica slave clock to to work with my IBM 25-7. I have a more modern slave mechanism of the two wire variety with the diode which I think will convert back to three wire operation without any problems. I am now trying to find some details of the...

IBM 25-7 Master clock finger nut and front gears

Many thanks for the picture. I've had a very close look at my clock and come to the conclusion that the two washers in there probably shouldn't have been. One certainly looks like an add on during a previous attempt to get it running before I bought it. I've reassembled it without either and it...

IBM 25-7 Master clock finger nut and front gears

Hi All, I'm having a few problems keeping my 25-7 running properly. I know it does not have the original finger retaining nut on and there are a couple of washers in the front gear assembly that may well not be in the right place either. Does anyone have a drawing or some good photos of exactly...

IBM master clock - starting out

I suppose the warning might have been aimed at the possibility of the clock being stopped in a position where the winding magnet was permanently energised? I did wonder about this when I restored my 25-7 and made my own relay box to power it. I don't know wht the rating of the magnet coil is but...

    My IBM/ITR Master clock Ressurection...

Yes indeed, it looks very fine. Is there any possibility you could also post a close up photograph of the square cased slave clock next to it? I've been considering trying to recreat one of these to go with my 25-7 master clock as I have a spare slave mechanism. Regards Steve

    Recognise this slave mechanism?

Thanks Harold, I suspected as much. Well, its going to get converted to a three wire system when I overhaul it as I now have a brand new control box to run it from. :)

    Recognise this slave mechanism?

Can anyone confirm the origin of the slave clock mechanism in the attached pictures. I have bought it in order to make a slave clock to run with my IBM model 25. It has only "Made in England" and the number 70832 on the coil, no manufacturer's name. It is at present configured for a 2 wire...
