    Hi Scottie, Adjusted the length of drop by 1 and half inches and it appears to have worked. Had to buy a longer piece of soft wood and replace stem. Now just doing adjusting and letting it run.

    I will check the plate. Thanks hookster I agree with your opinion regarding weights. I have worked on cuckoo clocks and I see that if the weights are a tad heavier the bird call and rate will accelerate. Same too with striking grandfather clocks, too less and the strike will not be as constant.

    Hello Richiec, You are correct. Its a safety pinion model and looks like the arbour has unscrewed. There is a washer that sites above the arbour below the wheel. I will try and screw it back on and let forum know what happens. Thank you
