Hello all, I’m a retired firefighter who early in my career began to ‘play with clocks' in the basement of an old 2 story fire station that once housed horse-drawn rigs. (Before my time!).
People would bring kitchen clocks, mantel clocks and 1 400 day clock to see if I could get them running again.
I enjoyed playing with them but had little idea what I was doing.
A transfer to a station without a basement brought an end to my tinkering for many years.
But 6 months ago a friend gave me a non-working pendulum wall clock and I have fallen in love with clocks.
The internet led me to EBay and YouTube and eventually here to NAWCC.

If I may bore you for another moment or two, I have a little movie trivia to illustrate how excited I am to be connected to all of this clock knowledge.
In the first ‘day the earth stood still ‘ the alien makes the acquaintance of a scientist and convinces him that he has indeed traveled to earth from another planet. As he’s leaving, the alien asks the now convinced scientist if he has any questions?
The scientist says ‘Yes ‘ ‘Several thousand!’
I’ll be asking many questions as I begin again to ‘play with clocks ‘
