Yeah. I didn't know where was the best place to post so I have ended up with two now but hopefully I will get some replies on one of them. Thanks for your reply regarding the escapement. That has been a very useful start.

An Unusual Clock Movement. Possibly Mora!!

Hello there all. This one is a recent purchase of mine. I was intrigued by it because it was sold as a Mora clock movement but I have never seen one like this before. It is an 8 Day weight driven movement with a missing alarm feature. It is definitely in the style of the Mora clock movements...

    Comtoise longcase clock

Sorry for the picture quality, my laptop broke so I have had to take the pictures on my tablet. The panneling part at the bottom of the case does not look original to me either. This panel has a 1 inch bevelled edge to it on the inside of the case.

    Comtoise longcase clock

Hello all. This clock is a recent purchase of mine. A comtoise longcase clock. This clock is to my knowledge a marriage. The case I believe is older than the movement. (I think) The movement is the earlier crown wheel type. The interesting thing is that the cast brass fronton was stuck to the...
