Waltham Watch Co.

The name "Waltham Watch Company" is used as a generic name for a number of companies.
The company began in 1850 as Howard, Davis and Dennison. In 1851 the name was changed to American Horologe Company and then to the Warren Manufacturing Company. In 1853 it became The Boston Watch Company and used this name until its bankruptcy and sale in May of 1857.
After the sale, for two months the new company name was Tracy, Baker And Company, then the Appleton Tracy Company.
In June 1859 the company consolidated with The Waltham Improvement Company and it became the American Watch Company.
In 1885 the name was changed again to The American Waltham Watch Company and then to the Waltham Watch Co. in 1906.
