#8629 sold on Ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=010 Kinda pricy. Early hard to find watch. Has its issues, but its not like you get a lot of them to choose from. Anyone know the production numbers from this run or the run that included #6019 ? Happy hunting, Bill Kapp [edit=559=1204090614]typo[/edit] |

I cannot read a danged thing on my screen on that movement. Was it marked 936?? Jeff I have only seen with my own eyes ONE marked 936 Hamilton Ball. I let it get away years ago. Jeff |

Jeff,
No, not marked. Looking for a little reverse snobbery here. You have one of the first 936's produced and I may have the last! Happy hunting, Bill |

Bill,
In my opinion, these early examples marked "Ball's Standard, Superior Grade" are the most interesting, and possibly, most important of the Hamilton Ball's. From the research I have, total production of the grade 936 with these marking may be as high as 86. To date, I have been able to verify with examples, 3 runs which total 70 movements. This includes the runs containing the serial numbers listed above, as well as the first run of 15 (SN 601-615). |

Rhett,
From posts by yourself, Ed,Kent,Terry, Jeff , Joel and others , pics in guides and my latest observation I know of the following 936 examples. 601, 603,608,611,6019,8619 and 8629. Do you know of any others? Thanks and Happy hunting,, Bill Kapp |

8276 also exists, and I have a much later watch from the 1909-1911 timeframe that has a hack seconds mechanism applied - I was told by the seller that it is one of four made for a foreign military application.
The buyer from the handwritten records is "Luths Dorweld Hallerles" but I believe this is the "Luths, Dorweld and Haller Co." as indicated in the attached excerpt from the 1914 edition of "The Book of Detroiters". Dave [edit=293=1204181723][/edit]

Dave,
Thank you. Do you know how many balls were in the run that included 8276? Was the 1910ish hack applied movement a 936? Happy hunting, Bill Kapp |

Bill,
I don't know how many grade 936 Ball's were made in the 8xxx range of serial numbers, but if you write to the NAWCC and ask nicely one of the volunteers can find that information for you by perusing the original Hamilton ledgers that they have there. And yes, the 1910'ish hack watch is also a 936. Dave

Dave; I’m a little confused. Are you saying that SN8276 has the Ball’s Standard, Superior Grade markings? If so, could you provide a picture or scan as I don’t remember any watches in this range being listed by Hamilton as sold to Webb C. Ball.
Bill; I may have a few additional serial numbers, but will have to check when I’m at home and have some time to dig into my files. |

No - I thought folks were looking for grade 936 serial nos. - sn 8276 is NOT a Ball watch, and neither is the hack seconds watch.
Apologies for the confusion created. Dave
