Rancid wale oil must be why a bunch of dirty, neglected, chain-drive watches I acquired have such a horrible smell to them! These stinky old British bull-dogs need an L&R bath bad! It's not the first group of British chain-drive watches I have had with this smell. I wonder if a stinky watch was a way 19th century owners knew a watch needed cleaning?

They taste bad too!! Seriously I have had watches smell, I was told it was just from using organic oils rather than mineral oils.
