I have no doubt the number of books on the subject of restoration most likely, and unfortunately, out number our members so someone giving praise to yet another one might be considered just more of the same. Absolutely not the case with this one. I have never posted any sort of recommendation before (in fact I'm not all that sure I'm doing this correct) but was so impressed with the information I felt the need to share.

This book is in the form of a compact disk with over 600 pages of information plus built in links to even more resources. I'm starting to sound like paid advertisement, I assure that is not the case! It's just that when you come across a publication such as this it's kind of exciting. One addition bonus, the author of the book, Tom Temple, has always responded to any of the questions I have had. Check it out, I'm sure you'll agree. Go to http://www.xrestore.com.

There does not appear to be any such web site as xrestor.com. You apparently left of the final "e."

I apologize to those I sent on a wild goose chase due to leaving the "e" off the link! Now that Phil has corrected give it a try.

Thank you Phil for correcting. I'm sure there are others that appreciate your help. In fact it's you second rescue of me, so thanks again!

I guess it goes to show you the caliber of this horological website when we have two of our own that have written refinishing manuals. That being Tom and Craig.I haven't seen Toms' book yet but I personally have no doubt that it is of the highest quality. If its anything like his postings I'm sure its money well spent.I have Craigs book and it is excellent.Well written, easy to understand, and well illustated.
These two gentlemen along with the rest of our small army of clockies who are so well versed in all facets of clock repair make this site without a doubt the premier Horological website.A sincere thanks to all of you.
Respectfully,Bob Fullerton

Tim,
Just placed an order with Tom Temple. Thanks for the recommendation.
Another fine example of sharing the knowledge.

All,

I have had the opportunity to view the Book "Extreme Restoration" by Tom Temple.
My compliments to you Tom. This is a very well written and illustrated book. There
is something for everyone here. I can't find a fault within the volume. Granted I haven't
completed it all, so I'm not qualified to
judge the whole. The "pros" in this field
will ultimately determine the faults, if any.
People less skilled in the art of restoration
and fabrication will find this book a true
blessing. (Myself for one)
Something to be proud of and a data bank we all can use.
I would encourage anyone and everyone, with specialized knowledge, to document, and
publish if possible.
A wonderful augment to the talent that resides within the NAWCC membership.

Good work!

Tim,
Thanks again for posting your review. It
definitely was helpful to me.

I also want to applaud Tom on this book (as I have numerous times in the past few months since I purchased my copy)! I was more than pleased with the book and it has been the best tool for me to learn different (hard to find) inforamtion.

I know I have said this before on other parts of this board, but I would urge anyone to purchase Tom's book!
