Default My favorite Illinois - Bunn 17j

You know, I searched and searched these forums to see if I'd posted this watch before, and I could not find it. So, I took a photo and am posting it maybe again. This has to one of my favorite watches to look at. This is my best score from THE auction site. The dial was nothing to look at, but the movement is superb.

Larry,

I could not agree with you more. This is a very nice watch both to look at an to take pride in. It is much more scarce than most of the little modern Bunns that most collectors seem to like these days. I used to own 1742329 which was marked the same way.

I also agree that your photograph is simply stunning. Thanks for posting it and letting us take pleasure in looking at your watch too. What a good way to start out the day!

Thanks

Larry,

Thanks for sharing this nice "Bunn". According to the Illinois book this movement was made about 1904. Was this the first 18 size movement "adjusted to 6 positions"?

Not by a long shot!

The Waltham No. 35 was listed in descriptions as being "Adjusted to Heat and Cold, and in all Six Positons." in 1887.

Kent,

Thank you. With respect to the 18 size Illinois movements, what grade was the first to have the 6 position adjustment?

Robert
